Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment that addresses how our thoughts impact our emotions and behaviors. This approach is used to help us shift negative or irrational thinking patterns, creating positive changes in our emotions and behaviors. Our thoughts are very powerful and affect how we feel, behave, and interact with the world around us.

Below is a simple outline of the approach, which will be discussed more in your sessions. You and your counselor will work together to explore how these thinking patterns play out in your life and identify examples specific to your experiences. This will help you develop skills to manage your thoughts and empower you to live a fulfilling life.
